Linc Smith has served as Altarum Institute’s President and CEO since 2007. He has led the Institute’s health systems research and consulting activities since joining the organization as its Chief Operating Officer in 2001, following Altarum’s acquisition of Vector Research, Inc. (VRI).

Ms. Torres joined Altarum Institute in October 2013 to lead the finance and administrative functions and foster operating growth through organic and acquisitive means. She oversees the Institute’s finance, accounting, legal, human resources, facilities, and information technology functions and manages the Institute’s investment portfolio. Ms. Torres brings almost 30 years of experience in a variety of sectors within the health care industry. She has held positions as CEO and entrepreneur, corporate consulting director, and hospital finance executive. She has in-depth experience across a broad range of management functions, with principal skills in operational and financial controls, sales, and identification of growth opportunities.
Vice President and Director, Information and Technology Strategies
Mr. Armijo is vice president and director of Altarum Institute’s Information and Technology Strategies group. He has served in positions of increasing responsibility since joining the Institute as a policy analyst in 1999. He has led efforts with numerous federal and state agencies to manage technology portfolios, inform national health IT policy, and foster advancements to improve health through accelerating the adoption of electronic health records and advancing clinical decision support.

As president for KAI Research, Inc., an Altarum company, Katherine A. Dimeo leads a contract research organization serving multiple clients at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Department of Defense (DoD), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as well as a wide range of private nonprofit and for-profit life sciences organizations and biopharmaceutical and medical device companies.
Vice President and Corporate Controller
Mr. Gilbert has been a member of the Altarum Institute team for more than 12 years. As corporate controller, his responsibilities include implementation and oversight of accounting and financial reporting functions at the Institute and its nonprofit and for-profit subsidiaries.

Jim Lee has been with Altarum Institute for more than 20 years. Before his current position, he served as Director of Altarum’s Medical Care Systems Group, where he led public health informatics and health quality research programs.

Vice President, Corporate Information Security and Technology
Mr. Towell is responsible for the overall information security of Altarum, as well as its technology infrastructure. Mr. Towell also is a corporate sponsor and participant of the Altarum Security Assessment Group, which develops, reviews, and revises the privacy and security policies that govern the protection of Altarum’s electronic information and information systems.
