ANN ARBOR, MI—Altarum Institute has been awarded the 2014 Workplace Excellence Seal of Approval and the Health & Wellness Seal of Approval, according to the Alliance for Workplace Excellence (AWE).

An excellent workplace provides strong programs and practices that support employees, their communities, and the environment. Examples include health and wellness programs, flexible work, family-friendly initiatives, employee growth and learning opportunities, diversity programs, and environmental responsibility. Altarum was awarded workplace excellence awards in 2010, 2012, and 2013 as well.

“Altarum’s staff is the key to our continued success, and providing them with opportunities to grow and thrive is an integral part of what we do,” said Lincoln Smith, president and CEO. “AWE has helped confirm this by bestowing this award to Altarum, and we thank them for recognition.”

AWE (www.excellentworkplace.org) provides a portfolio of services that allow employers to build excellent places to work. It created the Workplace Excellence and Health & Wellness Awards to highlight businesses that promote professional fulfillment and personal wellness at work, at home, and in the community. The Alliance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded by Montgomery County, Maryland, and Discovery Communications.
