Properly designed public health surveillance systems and registries function beyond listing patient information for incidence reporting. Altarum designs and develops systems with the needs of the end user in mind, supporting work flows and creating intuitive navigation and access controls to ensure health care events and outcomes can be monitored and controlled at individual patient and population levels.

We incorporate robust data analytics and visualization capabilities for the end user. This allows users to analyze data across multiple data sets, create pivot tables and charts, export data, and customize dash boards and alerts for population health management and surveillance activities. We build on platforms equipped to scale allowing flexibility for future growth.

Additionally, Altarum specializes in data integration and standardization.  We develop systems to securely receive and process standardized electronic health information from hospitals, ambulatory care settings, and laboratories.  We have developed Web interfaces with health information exchanges and established and support connectivity with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Our current clients include the Michigan Department of Community Health – Disease Surveillance and Syndromic Surveillance systems – as well as the National Network of Depressions Centers national registry system.
