Maternal and Child Health

Building Strong Foundations

The health of our nation’s women and child is paramount to the well-being of future generations. How can we strengthen public health programs to address growing disparities amidst communities? Altarum brings together expertise in the health and care of mothers, infants, children, and adolescents and federal food and nutrition programs to advance health equity.

Our approach is informed by decades of experience supporting Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and HRSA’s Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB) programs, state agencies, and organizations dedicated to the health of women and children. In addition, we have deep expertise in nutrition security, physical activity, SNAP-Ed, and WIC and have supported food and nutrition evaluation and implementation projects in more than 40 states and territories.

We engage coalitions of stakeholders, identify insights to enhance delivery of public services, train and empower the public health workforce, and we evaluate what’s works and for whom. Explore our impactful work below.
