The WIC Services Toolkit

The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) is committed to ensuring that its participants have a positive experience when receiving services and interacting with program staff.

To help strengthen WIC service delivery, the WIC Services Toolkit was developed by Altarum’s Center for Food and Nutrition in collaboration with the WIC Programs in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, and West Virginia.

The training toolkit is a collection 16 interactive, multi-media training modules addressing seven topics, such as “Dealing with Difficult Situations” and “Understanding Your WIC Customer.”

It is designed to train WIC local agency staff, and includes facilitators’ guides, activities, and videos of real WIC staff members and participants demonstrating quality customer service and key points addressed in the training modules. Each training session is 30 minutes, with some including optional extended training activities.
