Dan Armijo

Mr. Armijo provides the leadership, management and vision necessary to advance Altarum’s mission and ensure operational excellence. He oversees Altarum’s six operating centers (Connected Health, Value in Health Care, Behavioral Health, Healthy Women and Children, Military and Veterans Health, and Appropriate Care). He previously served as the vice president and director of Altarum's largest research and consulting division, helping physicians and health care systems modernize delivery systems, leverage technology and improve population health.

A two-time CMS innovation awardee, Mr. Armijo led the development of the SmileConnect® program, previously served as the director of the Michigan Center for Effective IT Adoption (M-CEITA), and currently chairs the board of a seven state CMS-funded collaborative to implement CMS’s Quality Payment Program across the Midwest.

Since joining Altarum’s predecessor Vector Research in 1999, Mr. Armijo has led efforts with numerous federal and state agencies to improve public health, inform national health IT policy, and foster advancements to our nation’s healthcare delivery system. He began his career by designing one of the first error/near-miss patient safety systems to be widely used in the health sector.

Before joining Altarum, Mr. Armijo held administrative positions at one of the largest health systems in the country and at a health maintenance organization affiliated with the University of Michigan. He earned his masters of health services administration degree from the University of Michigan and his BA from Oakland University.
