d-UP DVD and Packaging

Through the task order awarded under the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) ID/IQ, Altarum led the development, production, and distribution of a 30-minute instructional video and 5-minute promotional video on the d-up: Defend Yourself! HIV prevention intervention, which targets African American men who have sex with men.


Altarum ensured that the script, treatment, casting, pre-production tasks, and final product were technically correct and culturally relevant, reflecting and engaging the target community at every stage.

d-UP Marketing MaterialsWe worked closely with subject matter experts and the CDC technical monitor, along with our communications subcontractor, Banyan Communications, to create a clear and dynamic script and end product that tells the story of d-up! Altarum was also created the marketing and outreach materials to promote the video and intervention.

The instructional component of the video is used during d-up! trainings conducted with health departments and community-based organizations implementing the intervention. CDC uses the promotional clip on its website and at national conferences and events.
