Community Transformation Grant—Y-USA

The goals of this project are to expand the YMCA Diabetes Prevention Program to reach more African-American/ Black and Hispanic/Latino populations, implement healthy eating and physical activity standards in early childhood and afterschool programs serving these populations, and achieve jurisdiction-wide health impact through implementation of jurisdiction-wide changes.

KAI Research, Inc., a wholly owned for-profit subsidiary of Altarum, provides comprehensive support for the National Institute on Aging as the Institute’s Clinical Trials Operations Support Center. Activities include clinical trials operations support, quality assurance, safety-related operations support, statistical and methodological consultation, training, and maintenance of the NIA Human Intervention Studies database.

National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), National Institutes of Health (NIH), Clinical and Data Management Services

KAI Research, Inc., a wholly owned for-profit subsidiary of Altarum, supported several clinical studies sponsored by NIMH under the Clinical and Data Management Services contract, including the Multimodal Treatment Study of Children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (MTA) Follow-up Study, the Risperidone and Behavioral Therapy in the Treatment of Children and Adolescents with Pervasive Development Disorders (PDD) Study; and the Treatment of Adolescent Suicide Attempters (TASA) Study.

National Institute for Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) Coordinating Center for the Pediatric Pharmacology Research Unit (PPRU)

KAI, a wholly owned for-profit subsidiary of Altarum, served as the Coordinating Center (CC) for the Pediatric Pharmacology Research Unit (PPRU) Network, providing personnel, facilities, and other services necessary to maintain and coordinate clinical treatment at 13 participating pediatric units.
