Following are highlights from this month's report:

  • In Q2 2017, health spending growth drops below 4% for the first time since Q1 2014.
  • Company sales of hepatitis C increased slightly in Q2 2017.
  • During the first half of 2017, health care price growth averaged 1.8%, the same as economy-wide inflation.
  • Monthly health sector job growth in 2017 through August has slowed to an average of 26,000 jobs per month, compared to 32,000 in 2015 and 2016. 

About Altarum's Quarterly Health Sector Trend Reports

With funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Altarum provides analysis of key trends in health care spending, prices, utilization, and employment.
