The National Center for Complex Health and Social Needs“Putting Care at the Center” is the annual conference of the Camden Coalition’s National Center for Complex Health and Social Needs initiative. This year’s in-person event will take place November 1-3, 2023, in Boston, MA, with Commonwealth Care Alliance and the Center to Advance Consumer Partnership as cohosts. The conference is an opportunity for the national complex care community to learn, network, and create a shared agenda to improve care for people with complex health and social needs.
The theme of the 2023 conference—“elevating behavioral health in whole-person care”—will explore how the complex care field is uniquely positioned to address the current state of behavioral health care delivery to achieve whole-person care.
Join Altarum in the Beehive to learn more about how peer-to-peer learning opportunities are critical to sharing innovative ideas across community-based behavioral health care and addiction support programs. The Beehive is the conference’s innovation and semi-structured networking space where attendees can share emerging knowledge, experience, strategy, and challenges, and facilitate new partnerships and collaborations. On the morning of Friday, November 3, Altarum Senior Substance Use Disorder Recovery Specialist Tiffany Lombardo and Behavioral Health Analyst Mariah Black-Watson will present a poster titled “Peer Recovery Services Mentoring: Learning from Others to Enhance Care.”
A key component of the Bureau of Justice Assistance’s Comprehensive Opioid, Stimulant, and Substance Use Program (COSSUP) training and technical assistance resources, the Altarum-supported Peer Recovery Support Services Mentoring Initiative (PRSSMI) was established in 2018 to connect programs to promote best practices in peer support implementation. In 2023, the PRSSMI had 10 mentor sites from across the country that worked with peers through a variety of different settings. Altarum’s Beehive session will introduce the evaluation results from this year’s cohort. We will also share information on how to apply to be a mentor or mentee for the upcoming cohorts. Find us in the Beehive at poster station six from 8:45–10:30 am!
