Altarum Relaunches Publication of Health Sector Economic Indicators (HSEI)
Altarum has relaunched publication of the monthly Health Sector Economic Indicators (HSEI) briefs, providing a resource to the public health community that first began in 2011.
The HSEI briefs provide monthly time series estimates of U.S. health sector spending, prices, employment, and utilization using the most recent data available to inform policy and business decision making. These briefs, the underlying data, and associated insights have been used by Altarum health economists and researchers in related research to address key health topics, such as workforce shortages, health care consolidation, insurance affordability, and spending on future population health needs. The briefs are publicly available for use by other researchers, the media, and other interested individuals and organizations.
