Altarum Selected as Technical Assistance Vendor Supporting Health Care Delivery Transformation for Californians with Lower Incomes

September 19, 2023

California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal (CalAIM) is an initiative to transform the state’s Medicaid program to make it more equitable, coordinated, and person-centered.

To strengthen the capacity of health care providers, community-based organizations, counties, and others serving Medi-Cal members, California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) created a virtual one-stop-shop for technical assistant (TA) resources. As a vendor in the CalAIM PATH (“Providing Access and Transforming Health”) Technical Assistance Marketplace, Altarum can provide TA in building data capacity, strengthening community supports, and supporting workforce recruitment and retention.

With decades of experience providing training and technical assistance, leading multi-state quality improvement initiatives, and partnering with state Medicaid programs across the country, Altarum has the experience and expertise necessary to meet the challenge of transforming the nation’s largest Medicaid provider. Recently, we’ve improved the data capacity of tens of thousands of providers across the Midwest, strengthened coordination between community-based organizations and law enforcement across more than 20 states, and provided TA and data analytics expertise to support the material and child health workforce.

What makes Altarum’s approach unique? Our team includes experts in public health, health care policy, data analytics, and technology to provide comprehensive and holistic solutions. This interdisciplinary approach ensures our TA services address the multifaceted challenges faced by those we serve. In addition, our expertise in data analytics provides actionable recommendations grounded in quantitative and qualitative analysis.

“Altarum is committed to making a lasting impact for CalAIM through our TA services,” said Altarum Vice President of Population Health Tara Fowler. “By collaborating closely with Medi-Cal providers to develop strategies and interventions tailored to their specific needs and goals, we can ensure that they achieve outcomes that are sustainable and have a meaningful and measurable impact.”

“We’re honored to be selected to participate in this bold initiative to advance health equity and improve the physical and mental health of all Californians.”
