States and Territories Selected for Second State Technical Assistance Cohort (STAC) through the Center for Maternal and Child Health and Medicaid Partnerships (CMMP)

Kansas, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI), Indiana, Washington, Illinois, and Nevada were selected to participate in the second State Technical Assistance Cohort (STAC) convened through the Center for Maternal and Child Health and Medicaid Partnerships (CMMP).

Over the next 12 months, participants will engage members of their Medicaid, Title V, and CHIP agencies in individualized technical assistance (TA) and peer learning opportunities designed to strengthen cross-agency collaboration. Each team will identify cross-agency priority areas, develop actionable plans aligned with these priorities, and work towards implementing strategies to improve outcomes for maternal and child health (MCH) populations. 

The STAC offers participants the opportunity to learn through one-on-one support with experts, practical tools, and expertise from their peers, helping them better align programs and resources to meet the needs of children and families. Working in a cohort fosters shared learning while supporting each state or territory in advancing their specific programs.

Funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), CMMP is led by Altarum in partnership with the Center for Health Care Strategies (CHCS), Family Voices, and the Association of Maternal and Child Health Programs (AMCHP). The CMMP is a 5-year program that supports state Medicaid, Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and Title V programs to effectively collaborate and advance MCH. In addition to the STAC, the CMMP offers numerous training and TA opportunities to all states, including direct, customized TA to improve interagency agreements (IAAs), advance innovative financing strategies, and build capacity for family engagement.
