Long-Term Services and SupportsAltarum will be attending On Aging 2025 to present the work of the Community Care Corps (C3) with our partners Oasis Institute, Caregiver Action Network, and USAging. C3 is a national, ACL-funded program that fosters innovative local models in which volunteers provide nonmedical assistance to family caregivers, older adults and adults with disabilities to maintain their independence at home. In this session, C3 partners will expound on program alignment with national priorities, present key evaluation findings and share video stories of caregivers supported by C3 models.
Community Care Corps: Volunteer Power Supporting Healthy Community Living - April 23, 8:00 - 9:00 am
The session will include an overview of C3’s background, national reach, impact and alignment with national priorities. Speakers will highlight positive model outcomes, focused on maintaining physical and emotional health for both care recipients and caregivers. Furthermore, speakers will present analyses demonstrating the positive socioeconomic impact of volunteer models and a new economic benefit tool that organizations can use to strengthen their value proposition and pursue partnerships.
Speakers will also share how grantees sustain their volunteer models to expand support to harder-to-reach populations, engage more community members and improve health outcomes.
Throughout the session, attendees will be introduced to tools to help them explore how to tailor support, coordinate volunteer assistance, and adapt resources for their communities. The team will also share videos of personal stories of caregivers from communities served by grantees.
