ADvancing StatesThe Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Conference is ADvancing States’ annual national conference. The conference brings together state, federal, and local policymakers as well as leaders who administer, manage, and deliver waiver and other HCBS programs. Attendees will learn about, and collaborate on, practices and policies that improve state systems delivering long-term services and supports (LTSS) for all ages and abilities. The 2023 Hybrid HCBS Conference will take place August 27–31. Attendees can join the event virtually or in person at the Baltimore Marriot Waterfront in Baltimore, Maryland. In addition, Altarum Long Term Care Analyst Stephen McCall will join Oasis Institute, Caregiver Action Network, and USAging to present at the virtual conference on Monday, August 28th at 4:00 pm ET. In a session titled “Community Care Corps: Harnessing the Power of Volunteers to Support Independent Living,” they will discuss the national initiative to recruit and train volunteers to provide nonmedical care to elders.
