Jim St. Clair Joins Altarum as Vice President of Public Health Systems Division

Altarum announces the appointment of Jim St. Clair as Vice President of our Public Health Systems division. With over 25 years of experience driving digital transformation in health care, St. Clair brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record in public health and technology. His expertise in data governance and systems modernization efforts aligns with Altarum’s mission to advance public health through technology and collaboration. His leadership will be instrumental in guiding our division through the next phase of growth and development.

St. Clair has provided strategic leadership in AI workforce development, interoperability, and health IT modernization. Previously, as Executive Director of Linux Foundation Public Health, he expanded global collaborations, launched cutting-edge initiatives in health care AI and patient identity management, and he fostered partnerships with national health agencies.

A visionary in health IT and cybersecurity, and recipient of multiple FedHealthIT 100 awards, St. Clair spearheaded numerous large-scale technology adoption efforts, including AI/ML applications, blockchain governance, and verifiable credential frameworks for healthcare. His leadership roles at both healthtech start-ups and non-profits underscore his expertise in aligning emerging technologies with industry standards to enhance patient identity verification, data security, and interoperability. His extensive contributions to HL7, IEEE, ISO, and other standards bodies demonstrate his commitment to shaping global health technology standards and driving meaningful industry collaboration.

St. Clair is a veteran and former naval officer, having served both in active and reserve capacities. Following his military service, he earned degrees from Texas A&M University, National Intelligence University, and the University of Mississippi.
