Denise Sturm leads Altarum’s financial reporting and accounting departments, providing strategic leadership for fiscal infrastructure and formulating and executing financial strategy. She also oversees Altarum’s Contracts and Legal Operations (CLO) and facility services teams.
A certified public accountant, Denise has extensive executive-level experience leading organizations in healthcare and government. Most recently, she served 16 years as vice president and chief financial officer at a national healthcare technology and consulting firm emphasizing government contracting in federal and state markets. Prior to that role, she brings nearly 20 years of financial and administrative leadership experience working for the state of Iowa, where she began her career as an auditor and advanced to direct several functions as chief financial officer. Denise currently serves as a board member for Care Initiatives, the largest single operator of quality nursing homes in Iowa.
Denise holds a bachelor of business administration degree from Iowa State University.
