Marina has been with Altarum since 2020, where she has lent her technical assistance and onboarding expertise to implement public health reporting use cases such as electronic lab reporting, blood lead level reporting, and newborn screening for the state of Michigan. This involves working with health care facilities and health information exchanges, evaluating data transmitted via HL7, and updating state implementation guide requirements. Through the HRSA-funded Innovation in Newborn Screening Interoperability (INBSI) project, Marina has also provided technical assistance and training and education to state newborn screening programs nationwide seeking to improve their interoperability and address gaps to create a more streamlined and uniform system of newborn screening and reporting. In addition, she provides quality analysis for an Association of Public Health Laboratories(APHL) electronic case reporting (eCR) project where she validates eCR XML data for health care organizations implementing eCR. Marina holds a Master of Health Informatics degree from the School of Information, the School of Public Health, and the Medical School at the University of Michigan.
